Converting this former bank set in the heart of Glasgow's west end, had its challenges in this listed building. Our first challenge was to lift 20 tonnes of safes out from the basement. Next was the repair of intricate Cornecing details which our dedicated team of plasterers laboured tirelessly like Michelangelo on scaffolding to recreate. Large amounts of external stone repairs and internal removal of walls helped to create what is now one of Scotland's best loved burger restaurants.
The challenge here was to turn what was a dated drinking pub into a stunning contemporary Scottish bar and restaurant. Working closely with the ARKA design studio to source and treat raw woods and combine them with a modern yet traditional twist for a classic yet timeless look we worked together with the client to achieve what has proven to be a Glasgow restaurant of repute. This involved the creation of both a separate take away and sit in restaurant requiring major structural works on the old whinstone walls that separated the two buildings and the full installation of all new plumbing, wiring, gas supply, before the commencement of the impressive refurbishment which has helped to make East Coast into the Best Seafood Establishment 2022. The quality of the refurbishment had to reflect the history of the brand which has been serving the people of Musselburgh for almost 50 years. Buona fortuna a East Coast.
This refurbishment involved the two storey conversion of a former iconic hairdressing salon into an authentic Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of the city centre. Mixing a fusion of east meets west Babs was founded. Intricate tiling details were matched against delicate metalwork in the restaurant whilst the open plan kitchen layout served to authenticate the smells and aromas of the Greek/Turkish cousin.
When we first entered Genova it reminded us of the Marie Celeste. Old pint glasses half filled with the heady aroma of forgotten place and damp. What then followed was a complete revamp to create Paisleys finest Italian eatery. Delicate tiles, beautiful hand painted wall murals, sumptuous upholstery, stained and lacquered wood finishes wrapped round. The myriad of all new outdoor flowers finished the look. Grazie!
An old neglected pub in the Leith Docks area of Edinburgh sat riddled with damp. With a rabbit warren of a layout it needed opened up and reconfigured. A refurbishment involved taking the building back to its bare bones and sorting the damp issues before anything else could happen. With the surrounding area steeped in maritime history Basils soon evolved into a ship shape contemporary tavern enjoying an easy going vibe. A shop-fit that will stand the test of time.
Starting with an empty shell our goal was to create a homely pizzeria perfect for families and friends to enjoy a meal out. With a blank canvas we worked with multi trades from the getgo up against an aggressive timescale. Leopardo was born from the idea of the spots on a leopard matching the pizza bubbles as they baked in the oven. With the walls artistically muralled the brand was born to considerable fanfare in the city.
